DragonForce recently released their newest album, a sixteen track album, "Maximum Overload." My professional review is as follows:

Fucking shit the whole thing is amazing.

That is all.

i can tell you, The Power Within was boring for me, the album just feels to short i don't even listen to it anymore (besides Cry Thunder and Seasons), but overall it was a good way to welcome Marc as his first professional work (and i used to consider that it was just a warm-up for him, so the next album sounded absolutely better)
Maximum Overload brought 16 (WTF) tracks to the album, but i still miss those 6-7 minute songs from past albums, which while having less tracks, felt more satisfactory
my favorite songs from MO are No More, Three Hammers (so far, i've been loving their powerful 3/4 style), Symphony of the Night, The Sun is Dead, Extraction Zone, Power and Glory, and Chemical Interference
They did it again with the pace changes in the middle of songs, like Three Hammer's burning-fast high-pitched solos leading towards a glorious riff with those rising choirs, and the chorus just gets you all pumped up. The lyrics in Symphony of the Night are fun to sing along to, very much Castlevania themed. The Sun is Dead has kind of the same style as Seasons, it has a bass solo...A BASS SOLO!. Extraction Zone is fast, and i like to listen to the rhythm guitars, and it has this chiptune section, i didn't expect that! and they brought the pac-man noise back!
Power and Glory is yet another 3/4 song, with very uplifting lyrics, something you can listen to every morning.
one thing i also miss from this album is the keyboard solos, i mean, 16 songs and only 2 keyboards solos is just...poor...Vadim needed more of his crazy flair in this album.
nevertheless, i listen to the whole album like, almost twice a day (one go and start back from three hammers again, i just like that song that much), i'm glad to know you like DragonForce too! cheers! :D
