Traditional Comics by RedApropos Traditional Comics by RedApropos
I take pride in my traditional process of making comics.

Digital artists, imagine that when you draw, and you make a mistake, you don't have an "undo" function. Get it right the first time, boiz!

Though life is becoming more and more busy for me, and I can't put out as many comics as I used to, rest assured that all my heart and soul goes into every stroke of the brush!

How do you get such a smooth finish with those pens when you scan them in? I've used thos pens in the past and I can get a decent look, but nothing quite as smooth as your stuff. Is it some special paper or some fancy scanner setting? Or is it just a really steady drawing hand?

I always admire people who can draw traditional marker lineart so smoothly.  I don't think I will ever have such smooth control over my hands.

I draw traditionally, so I get that. I think everyone should try traditional at least occasionally, because it's better for learning some fundamentals of 2d art, and to an extend some 3d art, because most 2d and some 3d fundamentals were developed using traditional media. Each has it's pros and cons. Most of what I draw is too detailed, and would be far too time consuming on traditional media, far much more than it already is, so for the most part, I stick with digital, though I do both.

That's something I don't understand.

You said something that I thought was very rude, and I tried to make a joke out of it.

But then you say, "...okay then..." like you're the one dismissing my comment, as if YOU'RE offended or something.

Help me understand the situation here.

wildfang-windchaser.deviantart… apology and I couldn'd remember how to spell your username and forgot to actually look it up before I posted. Remember how I said that I'm about as tactful as discord. Yeah. I won't further my embarrassment any more.

I think You should be proud of that, indeed. For me drawing IRL it's kind of fundamental thing that everyone who creates art like that ought to try before switching into digital drawing/painting. Nowadays most of things (even in profesional circles) is done digitally.

Personally I'm person who does all of my bigger projects only digitally (started it back in 2010) but I still love to doodle some stuff in real life when I feel like it, which sadly doesn't happen as often as it used to. One thing is for certain though: If I didn't loved to draw with good ol' pencil and piece of paper since my childhood I wouldn't be here in the first place.

You know this are quite good.
It's a well created fan art comic you did & the quality is very nice.

You know a couple of years back I used to make my own traditional hand drawn original comics though,
I fell into a slump, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one who makes them.

Keep up the great work.

I used to draw with straight up pen, and I'd fill in any mistakes with more ink. I never had a specific image in mind when I drew things, so the mistake filling just transformed them more.

I'm dependent on undo buttons these days lol.

And the worst part is, if you're doing pencil work and have to erase something, you WILL leave smudges no matter what type of eraser you're using. Even the ones that are advertised as not leaving smudges.

ACTUALLY.

I use 0.5 HB leads, and Pentel High-Polymer (spelled "Hi-Polymer" on the package because apparently that shit flies in the States) erasers. The two combined leaves ZERO residue or ghost at all.

Cool. I'm guessing they're more expensive than typical pencils and erasers though.

The PENCIL I use is expensive. Almost $50 for a pack of six, and they're not sold individually.

The leads, on the other hand, and also the erasers are very ordinary, and very cheap.

the thing I like about Traditional art is a little thing called improvisation. with the way I do things, a little improv can either make or break it.
I applaud your ability though. without the 'undo' button you to a very good job.

I respect the skill it requires to do hand-drawn comics, especially with marker. I'd be so nervous that one twitch of my hand could ruin the whole thing.
